Information Asset Manager: GDPR features
Many of our customers have been enquiring about whether CoreStream will be releasing new features of Information Asset Manager (IAM), to incorporate some of the key elements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
CoreStream has reviewed the regulation and spoken to our clients, and are pleased to announce the release of new IAM features in late April 2018.
Key features of the new offering include:
- Ability to capture the data fields and data classifications contained within your Information Assets, allowing for more granular risk oversight.
- The addition of new GDPR applicable questions into the Information Asset form.
- The ability to create and link information flows at the asset, data field (e.g. DOB, Salary, email addresses) and data classification (e.g. personal data, sensitive personal data) level.
- 2 new chart types allowing for the end to end visualisation of Information Flows, at both the Information Asset and Data Field level.
- The ability to capture roles, responsibilities and declarations for your Organisation’s Controller, Processor(s) and Data Protection Officer(s).
- The ability to complete Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA’s) within the system.
- Functionality to record and manage information breaches within the system, including prompts to report information breaches to the ICO.
- Additional administration feature to allow for consistent Data Classification.
Please get in touch if the above is of interest to you (email@example.com), as we would welcome the opportunity to showcase the new features when they are released.
CoreStream End of Year Update
As we move into the final few days of 2017, it provides us with an opportunity to reflect on what has been another very busy year for the CoreStream team.
This year has seen an expansion of our Digital Governance, Risk, and Information Asset Management offerings, as well as the introduction of new functionality and products onto our platform. We have also placed a large emphasis on enhancing the security of our products for our clients as we continue to embrace the latest in evolving technology. In addition, the CoreStream team continues to grow in size as we have welcomed new members into our development, testing and client management teams.
With the impact of Brexit, and additional regulations such as Open Banking and GDPR coming quickly down the path, the next 12 months look to be providing additional challenges for our clients around their Risk and Compliance requirements. We will continue to monitor these changes, and adapt our platform to the requirements of both our clients and the wider regulatory landscape in the coming year.
The CoreStream Management team would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our clients a very happy festive period, and all the best for 2018.
Coming soon…..a new version of Information Asset Manager to allow organisations to assess their alignment with GDPR Principles
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force in the UK from 25 May 2018. The government has confirmed that the UK’s decision to leave the EU will not affect the commencement of the GDPR.
CoreStream, like many other organisations, is currently analysing the requirements of GDPR, to ensure that our systems and processes are aligned with the GDPR Principles.
As part of this due diligence exercise, we will be making improvements to our Information Asset Manager module, to allow organisations to assess their alignment with GDPR Principles. We are aiming for the new version of CoreStream Information Asset Manager to be released by early 2018. For further information on this offering, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
